Lost Coast is inspired by the magical landscape of Fern Canyon, located on California’s rugged north coast. Using a variety of cottons, including discharged and hand-dyed fabrics, I aimed to distill the essence of this breathtaking place in an abstract design. Line, color and texture evoke the vertical ferns, the delicate mist of water falling softly from the sky, and the lush, verdant greenness that defines the canyon.

I visited this place while still reeling from a major life altering event, and it became a place of healing. The canyon’s serenity and beauty provided a much-needed refuge, offering both peace and renewal during a difficult time.
