Pricing (as of May, 2026)
My fee for a full-day (6-hour) class is $800 for up to 18 students* and $400 for a half-day workshop or activity. *Extra fee for additional students.
I’m available in-person or via Zoom. For in-person events, there are additional fees related to travel, lodging, and meals.

Improv Curves
Workshop Description:

Improv Made Easy: Designing with Simple Shapes
Workshop Description:
Have you ever wanted to make an improv quilt but didn’t know where to start? This workshop takes the mystery out of improvisational quilting with a simple, stress-free approach. You’ll create a defined collection of basic shapes and colors, then explore how small variations on a theme can lead to endless design possibilities. With this easy and approachable technique, you’ll gain confidence in improvising while maintaining a sense of cohesion in your quilt. Crazy for Stripes
Workshop Description:
Striped patterning has been a defining element in modern art and design, particularly within the Bauhaus movement. In this class, we’ll explore how to use stripes effectively in quilt design, from structured stripe sets to improvisational compositions. Students will learn color and design principles that enhance striped patterns and leave with a unique, modern quilt top.
From Inspiration to Abstraction
Workshop Description:
Learn how to transform images into an original abstract quilt design, then begin bringing that design to life in fabric.
This workshop is divided into two parts. The first half focuses on design and abstraction; the second half moves into the sewing machine and begins the translation from paper to cloth.
We’ll start by breaking down an inspirational image into its essential visual elements. Through a series of guided exercises, you’ll create a collage, pull out key graphic elements, and explore how line, shape, scale, composition, and color can be simplified and reinterpreted as a quilt design.
For construction, we’ll take a structured yet improvisational approach, using simple techniques to translate your abstracted shapes and ideas into fabric. The focus is on getting started and exploring how the design evolves as you begin to sew.
Students will leave with a working knowledge and hands on sewing techniques to transform inspiration into an abstract design in fabric.
Scrappy Remix
Workshop Description:
What do you do with the leftovers from finished projects, WIPs that didn’t work out, and all those odds and ends that pile up in your scrap basket?
In this fun, improvisational workshop, I’ll guide you through a design process for making sense of the chaos of random pieces. You’ll learn how to combine, rearrange, and transform your leftovers into a cohesive, compelling quilt design—and give those forgotten scraps a whole new life.
Quilting Techniques for the Modern Quilter

Take your quilting to the next level! Basic Quilting Techniques for the Modern Quilter is designed to help you build a strong foundation in machine quilting while exploring ways to enhance your quilt designs. You’ll learn essential walking foot quilting techniques, along with thoughtful thread selection and creative embellishments, to add depth, texture, and interest to your quilts. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will give you the confidence to quilt with intention and elevate the overall impact of your work.

Workshop Title: Color Stories Series
Color Stories I: 45 min to 1 hour activity
Color Stories I is a fun, non-sewing activity that invites students to dive into the world of color interaction. Through hands-on activities, you’ll explore how different colors work together and influence each other. This workshop will boost your confidence in creating your own unique color stories, helping you to use color in more intentional and effective ways. Whether you're new to color theory or looking to expand your skills, this session is designed to inspire and empower you to make bold, informed color choices in your quilting projects.
Color Stories II. 3 Hour Workshop
Color Stories II Dive into the world of color interaction through hands-on exploration. This is a non-sewing workshop focused on understanding and applying color through a series of guided exercises. Students will discover how colors work together, influence one another, and shape the overall impact of a quilt. We’ll begin with color studies using paper and small fabric pieces, giving students a chance to experiment freely and build confidence in their color choices. These studies will build a practical vocabulary for understanding color relationships and provide a direct way to apply color theory to quilt design. By the end of the workshop, students will have greater confidence in making color choices, a deeper understanding of how color theory applies to quilt design, and a collection of color studies and palettes to inspire future projects.
Color Stories III is a full-day, immersive workshop that deepens students’ understanding of color interaction and color theory fundamentals. Building on Color Stories II, with a hands-on exploration of color relationships, students apply their newfound knowledge to build a personalized color palette for their projects, and by the end of the day, will leave with a unique mini-quilt top and the skills to confidently approach color in future quilting projects.
