I offer three different in-person lectures and virtual lectures via Zoom. My lecture fee for 2026 is $450 in-person and via Zoom. For in-person events, there are additional fees related to travel, lodging, and meals.

Color Stories: What you really need to know about color to design stunning quilts.
Color Stories is a one-hour lecture that takes a deep dive into the exploration and application of color theory for quilters. You don’t need a color wheel to design quilts that use color effectively! Instead, I’ll share my insights from my years of working with color to help you create effective color stories—whether bold or nuanced—with confidence. Through a showcase of my quilts, I’ll illustrate key lessons I’ve learned about using color—how it carries emotional weight, sets a mood, and tells a story. Whether you're looking to refine your color sense or break out of a color rut, this lecture will leave you inspired to see color in new ways and use it more intentionally in your work.
The Art of Abstraction & Quilts
What is abstraction, and how can it help us develop a unique visual language in our quilts?
In this engaging and visually rich lecture, I explore abstraction as both an artistic approach and a creative practice. We’ll look at what abstraction means in art and how artists move from recognizable forms to simplified, transformed, and ultimately more personal shapes and compositions.
Through examples from modern and contemporary art, along with my own quilts and creative process, I will explore how practicing abstraction can help quilters see differently, develop their own vocabulary of shapes, and move beyond simply reproducing what they see. The lecture offers inspiration and practical ways to begin experimenting with abstraction as a path toward creating work that feels distinctly your own.
