Postmodern Jukebox, 2025
Postmodern Jukebox features a single motif explored through improvisational changes in scale, orientation, and color, resulting in a lively and dynamic design. Its name playfully references the band Postmodern Jukebox, celebrated for their inventive takes on classic jazz and pop songs—mirroring the quilt’s own creative riff on the traditional “Drunkard’s Path” block.
I teach a workshop on making your own improv version of this quilt; taking students through fabric selection, cutting and piecing curved shapes without the aid of rulers or templates and designing “off” the traditional grid. For more information, see my workshop offering.
