This quilt is an addition to my quarter-circle series and continues my exploration of the quarter-circle form using a more limited color palette while incorporating prints that complemented it. As I designed the piece, I discovered that the aqua color receded to become the background, allowing the remaining shapes to emerge as architectural structures across the surface.

The title, Intrados, refers to the inner curve or underside of an arch—the concave surface visible when looking up at the structure.
